Since 1971 the Norristown Garden Club (NGC) has provided annual scholarships to students pursuing further education in horticulture-related areas.

Sealaska annually provides hundreds of merit-based scholarships — both full- and part-time — to support emerging leaders from our community. Since the program began, we have distributed roughly 11,000 scholarships, totaling about $20 million.
Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy all of the following:
- Meet the definition of Alaska Native as “Native” under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, 43 U.S.C. 1602(b).
- Be enrolled in Sealaska Corporation, OR be a Native lineal descendant of an Alaska Native who is enrolled in Sealaska Corporation (ownership of Sealaska stock is not required).
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate...

The Mamoru and Aiko Takitani Scholarship application opens December 1. Each qualifying high school will choose one outstanding graduating senior to receive a $3,000 Takitani Scholar award. From that pool, finalists identified from each school district, the Hawaii Catholic Schools system, and the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS) will receive an additional $2,000 (bringing those finalists’ total to $5,000). Takitani Scholars may apply to renew the award for up to three additional years of undergraduate study at up to $3,000 per year.

Frank Der Yuen was a globally recognized aeronautical engineer, airline executive, and consultant. A graduate of Harvard and MIT, he engineered the all-weather, self-propelled passenger boarding bridges found at major airports worldwide. Mr. Der Yuen served as Executive Director of the Honolulu Airlines Committee and as a vice president of Aloha Airlines. He contributed to the design of the Daniel K. Inouye (Honolulu) International Airport and helped establish the Pacific Aerospace Museum formerly located there.

From its earliest days, NDTA has prioritized promoting and supporting education, research, science, and development in transportation across private, industrial, academic, and government sectors. To provide a dedicated funding vehicle for those efforts, the Association created the NDTA Foundation in 1961 as a separate financial entity operating under NDTA. A volunteer Board of Trustees oversees the Foundation’s work.
How the Foundation is Supported
The Foundation relies on voluntary contributions. Donations are tax-deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are restricted to Foundation-related purposes and may not be used to cover unrelated operating expenses.
