Wyoming High School Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Wyoming Game Wardens Association
Overview
Started in 1986, this scholarship program offers financial help to Wyoming high school seniors planning to continue their education after graduation. Each award is $1,000. Two scholarships are granted from each of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s seven Wildlife Division regions (14 total). Funds may be applied to trade schools, community colleges, or four‑year universities, whether in Wyoming or elsewhere.
Who should apply
Any Wyoming high school senior is encouraged to apply.
Award criteria
Candidates must submit a written application that includes an essay addressing questions about Wyoming’s environment, hunting, and their future plans. Regional game wardens select recipients based on the essay responses and demonstrated financial need.
Deadlines and notification
Applications are due annually by March 1. The game wardens in each of the seven wildlife regions make their selections by March 30. Whenever possible, the local game warden tries to present the scholarship at the student’s high school awards ceremony.
How to apply
For the second consecutive year the application is entirely online. Complete the linked form in full and use an email address you will have access to through the end of the school year.
