Overview
The Shell Technical Scholarship provides financial support and career development opportunities to graduating high school seniors who show an interest in the energy sector and strong ability in math and science. The program is intended to help develop future engineering and geoscience talent.
Award
Shell will fund up to 20 one-year scholarships of $2,500 each. Awards are for graduating high school seniors who will enroll in approved engineering or geoscience programs at universities designated by Shell.
Purpose
This scholarship aligns with Shell’s efforts to build a qualified pipeline of engineers and geoscientists. Developing workforce capability in these disciplines is a high priority for the company, and the scholarship helps identify and support students with the potential to pursue careers in the energy industry.
Eligibility
- Be a graduating high school senior.
- Intend to enroll full-time in an approved major at a Shell-specified institution. Eligible majors include geology, geophysics, physics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and petroleum engineering (or related geosciences/engineering fields).
- Be legally authorized to work full time in the United States without requiring any form of employment sponsorship.
Application requirements
- Submit the online application.
- Upload a copy of your high school transcript and standardized test scores.
- Provide names and email addresses for two individuals who can submit recommendations on your behalf.
Important dates and notes
- Application materials and supporting documents must be submitted by March 15.
- This is a one-time scholarship; awards are not renewable.
