The CDGA Foundation Scholarship & Grant Program is funded by generous annual contributors and legacy donations from individuals and volunteer organizations who have chosen to entrust their legacy of service through golf to the Chicago District Golf Association. Overview for 2026
The CDGA and CDGA Foundation will offer the following scholarships and grant opportunities in 2026:
- CDGA UVS Swing Club Veteran Scholarship
- Intended for dependents of veterans, including dependents of veterans who are deceased or service-disabled. Eligible applicants must be living in or hospitalized in Illinois or within the Chicago District (Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Southern Wisconsin).
- CDGA Folds of Honor Scholarship
- Designed to support families who have served and sacrificed, this scholarship helps cover educational expenses for recipients from K–12 through higher education so that pursuing academic goals is not an added financial hardship.
- CDGA IWGA Julia Dodds Scholarship
- A $5,000 award for Illinois-resident young women planning to pursue an undergraduate degree who demonstrate a passion for golf. Selection is based on Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Sportsmanship.
- CDGA IWGA Grant Program
- Open to any Illinois public or private higher education institution (two- or four-year colleges). Administrators of women’s golf programs are encouraged to apply for funding; applicants should follow the program guidelines for submission.
- CDGA JPGA Walter & Nettie George Speedy Scholarship
- Created in partnership with the Jackson Park Golf Association (JPGA), this scholarship honors Walter and Nettie George Speedy and their early-20th-century contributions to Black golf.
- CDGA Brent Wadsworth Scholarship
- Established in collaboration with the Wadsworth family, this scholarship recognizes Brent Wadsworth’s longstanding impact on the game and his commitment to mentoring and supporting future generations.
