THSRA Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Texas High School Rodeo Association, Inc.
Introduction
The Texas High School Rodeo Association (THSRA) is committed to supporting its members and investing in their futures. Increasing both the number and the value of college scholarships awarded to graduating Seniors is a primary goal of our organization. Over recent years, THSRA has distributed more than $185,000 in scholarship funding to deserving Seniors. Past awards have varied in size, ranging from $10,000 down to $250. Scholarship decisions are made by an independent review panel unaffiliated with THSRA. If you are a Senior interested in applying, obtain and complete the 2026 scholarship application (printable or available from your chapter secretary).
Important Applicant Notes
- Read and follow all instructions carefully. The review panel evaluates the whole applicant—not just rodeo involvement—so include information about all aspects of your life. A rubric showing the evaluation criteria is provided with the application.
- Part C: You may use up to two (2) pages to respond to the items requested in Part C.
- ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE TYPED. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.
- NO EMAIL SUBMISSIONS. Applications submitted via email will be disqualified.
- Include a stamped, self-addressed postcard with your submission so we can confirm receipt. On the postcard write: "THSRA scholarship application received." If you do not enclose the postcard, you will not receive receipt notification.
- Provide official documentation of SAT, ACT, and/or TSI scores. Handwritten, typed, or notarized copies that are not official test score reports are not acceptable.
- Use the 2026 scholarship form; older forms will not be accepted.
- Applications must be delivered to the address listed on the application packet and must be RECEIVED in hand by Wednesday, April 1, 2026. No exceptions.
- You may hand-deliver your completed application to Susan Baldwin at the THSRA office NO LATER THAN April 1, 2026.
- If awarded, scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college or trade school you designate in two installments. Payments will not be issued to individuals. Scholarship payments must be requested within three (3) years of the award or they will expire.
- THSRA and/or the THSRA scholarship committee reserve the right to withhold awards from applicants who do not meet the minimum application requirements (for example: missing grades, absent test scores, or failure to follow instructions).
- If you have questions, contact any member of the scholarship committee.
