WCB Scholarship Program
Purpose
The Washington Council of the Blind provides financial assistance to qualified legally blind residents of Washington State to help them pursue education and leadership opportunities. Through these scholarships, WCB:
- supports recipients’ personal and academic development,
- raises the presence of legally blind students on college and vocational campuses, and
- helps cultivate future community leaders.
Impact and history
Over the past five years, WCB has granted more than $117,000 in scholarship funds. Since 2019, thirty-two people have applied for and received scholarship awards. WCB’s scholarship endowment was established in 1999 and the organization has remained dedicated to helping blind and low-vison Washingtonians reach their educational goals.
2025 Scholarship opportunity
The 2025 WCB Scholarship application is now open. If you meet the eligibility criteria, gather your supporting documents and apply online.
Who is eligible
- Legally blind individuals who live in Washington State.
- Students who will be enrolled in a college, university, or trade/vocational program in the fall term of 2025.

Complete the 2025 WCB Scholarship application using the online form. Applications must be submitted by the deadline: June 15, 2025.
