The Stuckey Firm Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Stuckey Firm
Introduction The Stuckey Firm, LLC, is committed to giving back to its community. After years of engaging with area athletics and meeting driven students from diverse backgrounds, the firm is expanding its support for higher education. Beginning with the 2025–2026 academic year, the firm will offer a $2,500 scholarship available to eligible current and incoming college students. Overview of the Scholarship This award asks applicants to produce a short video that addresses the role of juries in personal injury litigation. Specifically, entrants should present a clear position on whether juries in injury cases ought to be broadened or narrowed, and support their viewpoint with reasoning and sources where appropriate. Who May Apply The scholarship is open to individuals who meet all of the following conditions: - Are accepted to or currently enrolled at an accredited college, university, or graduate program in the United States (this includes incoming students with proof of acceptance), and - Agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions and can provide documentation verifying enrollment or intent to enroll. How to Apply Submit a complete application package by the deadline that includes: 1. A brief written script or outline responding to the prompt. 2. A recorded video (see specifications below). 3. Any additional required materials as listed on the application form. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed, so confirm all required items are included before sending. Video Topic and Technical Requirements Record a video that answers this question: - Should the right to a jury trial be expanded or restricted in injury cases? Guidelines: - Length: 2 to 3 minutes. - Cite relevant sources to support your argument. - Upload the finished video as an unlisted YouTube link (or otherwise follow the application instructions for video delivery) and include that link with your application. Production Suggestions To help applicants submit professional and easily viewable entries, the firm recommends: - Keeping the camera steady (use a tripod or set the device on a stable surface). - Filming in a well-lit space with minimal echo or background noise. - Stating your full name and “The Stuckey Firm Scholarship” at the very start of the video. - Using only copyright-free media if you include external images, music, or clips. - Adding credits and noting any editing software used either at the end of the video or in the video description. The use of editing software is optional and will not affect eligibility or be evaluated as part of the selection criteria. Deadline and Selection Process All application materials, including the video link, must be submitted by June 15, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. The Stuckey Firm, LLC, may take up to three months after the deadline to review submissions and select a recipient. Applicants should not contact the firm to ask about application status during that review period; a representative will request further information only if needed. The firm looks forward to reviewing thoughtful, well-supported entries and helping one promising student with this $2,500 award.
